cecilia's big trip documented

 hey void. in case u didn't know (we have been SUUUPEr on the low about it/sar), andrea and i graduated this weekend! burlington ceremony first then baltimore. now, i am on my big 11-hour long train from baltimore back to burlington. gonna be documenting every hour with what i did, listened to, my vibes, where i am, etc. i love trains! shoutout amtrack for this opportunity to sit for a long long time. 

hour: 1. it is 11:10am. we are in baltimore.

the train was like 4 minutes late which was honestluy. perfect because i needed to finish braiding my hair. andrea bought me a sandwich and a lemonade which was so kind. the wifi is seeming pretty ok so im gonna try to get some stuff from my to-do list checked off. not much to report on right now! just left beltimore. also jiggy stole like all of my underwear. also andrea was right and havig a buncfh of bags on the train is always impractical. ok see u guys soon!

The train is lowkey throwing me around a bit. Sitting next to someone they seem chill they put my bag on the bag holder for me so thanks girl. oh my god im shaking so much its like hard to type. 

hour: 2. it is 12:04pm. i think we just entered pennsylvanit (like ten min from philly
)

the wifi is kinda garbage and the shakong train is making my typing even worse than it already is. regardless, i submjitted my loan exit counseling thing for FSA even though i had to do it twice. i also sent some emails to RSENR people about my independent study. they better not let me down. genuinely. i also sent a bunch of messages to my doctors about making appointments for my peace corp application. i texted the groupchat a it and they were funny. love them a lot. now i think im gonna make my calendar for next week and then do a peace corps personal statement. i sense a nap and a bathroom break in my future.

hour:3. it is 1:01pm. New jersey!

okay okay i know its not kosher to shit on the train but sue me im on here all day. i wish they had air freshener in there bc i do feel a bit bad about it. i finished all my peace corp stufft that i can do right now. honestly the wifis not horrible so i think im gonna try SALling later. the girl who was sitting next to me moved to sit with her dad so right now im flying solooooo. gonna try to nap and maybe take a bite of my sandwich. im not fully done with my coffee but am feeling a littttleeeee bit jittery. not much else to report on im still listening to that same playlist. gonna take my first sip of water of the trip! woohoo!!!

update from five minutes later: i had half of that sandwich it was BOMBBB!!!! new love of pickled beets is being downloaded. i did get some avocado under my ail and just picked it out with my teeth, i hope no one saw and thought i wasa nasty. a nice worker came to collect trash so i got rid of my coffee! feeling good gonna try to sleep for a min. 

hour: 4ish. its 2:25. leaving penn station on train 2

i just literally went to war to get onto this train. first of all there was a line for the escalator and it took so long that by the time i got on it was last call. every seat is booked so not gonna take a nap in a double seat for a while. i ate the second half of the perfect sandwich and it was yummytown deluxe even though it fel lapart and i was just eating ingredients with my hands (including more avocado under the nails). when the snack cart opens im getting a bev. ok gonna send some emails then sal again. hopefully the wifi isnt too evil!

hour: 5. its 3:18pm. were upstate like just passed croton.

my wifi was NOT working after i made my hour 4 update. i did not sal. i have been listening to twin plagues by wednesday then the radio after it. reading the new ocean vuong. so excited about it but its the first like story novel type thing instead of poem. this woman is sitting next to me but i kinda wanna go to the bathroom and then the snack cart then come back to my seat. shes having a convo with someone in the other aisle and i dont want to be rude by needing to pee. my hands smell like m sandwich which is a little bit upsetting. honesly just feeling bored rightt now tbh. this train is PACKED!

its SUMMERRRRRR!!!!!!!! i GRADUATE ON SATUDAYYYYY!!!!!!

i spent the whole day on the couch with my best friends and it was awesome! we got yummy willows (a spike w morningstar ofc), i SALled and we watched SVU, then went to the thrift and i got an awesome new bag from platos. ok i was gonna keep oging and tell u about my awesome day and how much i love my friends and this life, but its time for our second game of mario party today. see. guys soon!

 welcome back andrea we missed u bad over here. i just took my last inorganic chem test EVER! thank god actually cant believe i had to even do that. i may or may not be graduating in two weeks super tbd lololol (too much to even begin to share to the void in this stage, just know its all very bureaucratic nonsense). i just submitted my visa and passport applications and yesterday i got fingerprinted! its getting real. right now im writing thank u cards to my eating disorder doctors because who know if i would be here now without them. feeling: grateful for this life even the stupid parts like my summer class getting cancelled. one more final to go and its online! not gonna study for it :)

i forgot again

my phone updated while i was asleep despite my constant rejection.  for context i have an iphone 13 and ive had for my entire post secondary career.

unfortunately now my phone is mad glitchy and it crashes every few.  NOW my service keeps going out saying that my sim is unavailable like girl the sim is imbedded it the phone what do u mean there is no sim.  now facetime and imessage completely doesnt work.  my dad is trying to make me an authorized account user so that i can go get a new phone on the family plan.  this is adding a new level to my boredom

sorry ive been MIA, i've been too busy doing a 2 year masters degree in NINE MONTHS!!!!! #latina with a masters degree #8percent

i know i know all very exciting

since we have last spoke, a few things have happened, hopefully i get all the important stuff.  Im gonna try and go in order:

- i started my last student teaching placement at a middle school in the county.  it was rough at first, i didnt have a sense of belong.  after a bit when i got more comfortable i loved the kids.  im done at that school now and truth be told i miss them so much.  i had three velcro students.. they never did any work before i got there.  like im talking 28 percent in the class.  they got really attatched to me and even though it was annoying having three middle schoolers attached to my hip for 80 minutes sometimes, i was honored that they thought i was a safe space.  thye made beautiful sock monkeys!!

- with seventh grade we made sock monkeys.  they absolutely hated the idea that they would have to learn to sew and fashion design, but once we got into it they loved it.  they were so engaged and made such special and unique monkeys, i was so proud i literally cried (a few times)

- i hit a massive deer and wrecked the front part of my car.  luckily i drive a toyota and that thing is a tank.  me and jiggy were safe.  my mom and i met in philly to switch cars so that she can take it to her mechanic to fix (he has a crush on her or something idk.. she hates when i say that but why is the oil change $45 when she takes it and $90 when i take it???) i finally got my car back after like 6 weeks and bisexual mobile is back and better than ever!!!!

- since i survived my car accident, i decided that life is too short and it was time to buy the coach wallet i have been dreaming of for months.  it was a big girl purchase but i deserved it.  YAYYYYY to my first brand new designer item.  hopefully coach brooklyn bag to join the team soon.

- I passed the last assessment i need for my certification in teaching!!!! YAYYYYYY!!!! im filing for certification today!!! Yayyyyy

- I was approved as an eligible candidate for baltimore city YAYYYYYY

- i interviewed with a school and i was really happy.  it felt like i belonged there and the sense of community was strong.  there is also a large spanish speaking population where most parents and sometimes even kids dont speak much if not any english.  i think i would really be able to support students there.  that was always why i wanted to be a teacher. i got offered a job there and i think im gonna accept it!!! YAYYYY!!! i have another interview party thing tomorrow and then i'll make my decision.

- jiggy got her surgery and she has been recovering over the last week.  she has one more week unitl she can do long walks or stairs.  the issue im having rn is that she bounced back a little tooooooo quick and now she has a massive amount of energy that i cant tire her out bc her stitches arent even fully healed.  so we'll see how that goes...

that's all for now, im sure that there's more but i really tbh cant rememebr rn.  more to come.  i am offically done with grad shchool, just waiting to graduate YAYYYYY!!! that being said as well as being done with student teaching i'll be on here a lot more.  forgot about you for a second but IM BACK BABYYYYY

also, i cant believe ceci is going to peru.  i will miss her dearly but im so happy for her!! Shes awesome.  cant wait to tell my students about my sister the scientist.  (maybe when she comes back they will hire her in towson and we can live together si dios lo quiere)
