first post

today i am sitting thinking about how my sister and i have grown up, running on the same concrete, slipping on the same dirt.  cecilia is a scientist.  i tell my middle schoolers that she is the smartest person i know.  i am an art teacher.  i haven’t taken science since my junior year of high school and who even knows when the last time cecilia took art was.  our lives have diverged into two completely different paths, but by some miracle, we are more the same than we have ever been.  we know the freedom that comes with a bright and obnoxiously artificial hair color, the responsibility of a nose piercing, and the perils that can only be brought on by a very niche type of person, too niche to even say on a platform surely to be viewed by only us.  anyways, all this to say hi cecilia i love you and i miss u very much.
